On 10th October 2005, Europcar Fleet Services changed its name to Volkswagen Group Leasing, in a move designed to demonstrate the specialist skills and expertise of the organisation in delivering solutions to business users of Volkswagen Group vehicles

The new European-wide name is intended to clearly communicate to customers the association to the Volkswagen Group and therefore the expertise, level of service and quality that customers should expect from the company. Volkswagen group Leasing will remain the leasing arm of Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Limited, and will offer contract hire, leasing and other fleet service related products for all-makes of vehicles. 

Whilst Volkswagen Group Leasing can provide its customers with a full range of business user solutions for any make of vehicle their strength lays in the provision of Volkswagen Group vehicles. Graham Wheeler, joint Managing Director of Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Limited, explains: 'The re-branding of Europcar Fleet Services to Volkswagen Group Leasing is a strategic and positive step forward in the evolution of our organisation. The core strengths of the organisation will remain, such as our approach to treating customers and drivers as individuals, even though we now intend to undertake a programme of expansion.

'The new name now celebrates the fact we are a part of the Volkswagen Group and our customers should take great deal of comfort in this. There are few other groups that would be able to offer their customers a selection of executive vehicles such as Bentleys and Audis, through to the practical range of vans available from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles,' added Wheeler.

Wheeler concluded: 'Vehicle and financial management is a core competency of our organisation. We already manage a vehicle service and maintenance package portfolio of 55,000 vehicles, administer agreements for 185,000 retail customers and lend over £1billion. Therefore, current and potential customers of Volkswagen Group Leasing should feel assured that we are able to offer them the best vehicles, funding solutions and asset management.'
