Midlands-based security systems specialist Secure One has selected Volkswagen Group Leasing to supply, fund and maintain its fleet of commercial vehicles because of the quality of Volkswagen commercial vehicles and the dedicated van centre network.

Secure One, which has its head office in Enderby, Leicester, supplies and maintains electronic security systems throughout the Midlands and operates a fleet of 32 light commercials and seven cars, primarily for maintenance engineers.

Formerly part of East Midlands Electricity, it installs and maintains intruder alarms, CCTV, remote monitoring, perimeter and electric fencing, fire alarms and emergency lighting and access control – both for commercial and domestic customers.

It has now decided to replace the entire fleet with Volkswagen Caddy 1.9TDI 104PS panel vans and Transporter T30 SWB 2.5TDi 130PS panel vans for its workforce, replacing the Citroen vans that it previously operated.

The vehicles are being supplied by Volkswagen Group Leasing on three years/90,000 mile contract hire contractsincluding full maintenance.

Ian Bass, Managing Director at Secure One, said the decision had been taken to switch to a new fleet from Volkswagen Group Leasing because of the superior build quality of the vehicles and the dedicated Volkswagen network of van centres around the UK.

“We need our vehicles to be as reliable as possible and were impressed by the dedicated van centre network where the customer service is of a very high standard, and the servicing is speedy and of consistent quality, “he said.

Volkswagen Group Leasing recently rebranded from Europcar Fleet Services in a strategic decision to bring the Milton Keynes-based operation into line with those of other European countries.
