Volkswagen Financial Services is seeking to provide a diversity of finance and insurance products to give retailers across the whole of the Volkswagen Group as many income opportunities as possible.

The latest example is the company’s first move into the 10-year hire purchase market for the first time in support of the Volkswagen California motorhome, which was launched in the first quarter of this year. The 10-year hire purchase offer, which is being made through Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Finance, is a first for VWFS which had previously made five years the maximum repayment term on any of the hire purchase deals it offered customers.

The offer applies to the whole four-model California range and is in line with the terms usually offered in the motorhome market, with 10 years being a typical period, said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Finance brand manager, Adam Ursell. “This is an interesting and exciting time for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Finance as we venture into the 10-year hire purchase market for the first time to support the new California in the UK market,” he says.

“This is a significant move for VWFS as we currently offer five years as a maximum term across all other brands as well as commercial vehicles. However, research tells us that-year hire purchase is a real winner within the motorhome sector.”

VWFS has also extended its Solutions PCP offering to include the California. The California is sold through seven of the 80 Volkswagen Van Centre network sites, at Exeter, Cardiff, Birmingham, Taunton, Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow, with plans to add 15 more centres by the end of this year.
