VWFS charity fund raising

Four members of staff from Volkswagen Financial Services are taking part in the Aviva Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer in a bid to raise £10,000 for the breast cancer research charity.

The four from VWFS, who have all expressed a personal interest in the cause, are Amanda Williamson, Richard Keane, Beverley Jackson and Carolyn Tebbutt, and they will be walking 60 kilometres over one weekend from September 15-17, through a pre-set course in London, with thousands of other men and women in support of this worthy cause.

According to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, one in nine British women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, making it a key issue for many industries and communities.

“We are committed to supporting a number of charitable causes, notably BEN and local charities, but have decided that our main charity fund raising initiative this year will be in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and have set a target of £10,000,“ said Graham Wheeler, Managing Director of VWFS.

“We have written to our close business partners inviting them to make a donation towards this very worthy cause, and would welcome any pledges of support or donations from within the retail motor industry,” he added.

Anyone wishing to support the VWFS team through a donation towards their fundraising efforts can log onto www.breakthroughweekend.org and, by inserting the name of one of the staff members or the team ‘VWFS’, make a donation online, using a simple and quick process.
