A group of brave men and women from Milton Keynes fell 10,000 ft from the skies at speeds of up to 120mph to raise cash for a childrens hospice. They were raising money for Keech Cottage childrens hospice near Luton and the high fliers who work at Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Limited at Blakelands, have raised around £2,500 in sponsership from colleagues which will go to the Keech Cottage Accumulator Challenge. Organiser Pat Vallis said: "I dont like heights but decided to do the jump as the hospice really needs support." VWFS was the first local company to sign up for the Keech Cottage Accumulator Challenge, and 50 other companies from Milton Keynes have also joined in. Back in June the companies were given a crisp £50 note donated by HSBC bank and had the task of using this to 'grow' cash for the hospice in three months. Keech Cottage recieves a quarter of its income from the National Health Service and relies on fund-raising for the other 75 per cent. |
