New fuelcard launched by VGL

A new fuel card has been launched by Volkswagen Group Leasing to make life easier for fleet managers and drivers - and manage fuel costs.

The Volkswagen Group Leasing fuel card is primarily designed to help businesses save money through good management of their fleet fuel costs.

“We introduced the card after talking to our customers and asking them what we could deliver to help them” said Head of Sales, Tim Johnson “The new card will give fleet managers detailed reports on mileage, where fuel is purchased and its price at the pumps. It means that patterns can be monitored and drivers can be directed to cheaper outlets nearby where appropriate.

“Spending is also restricted to fuel and oil only so other items such as snacks and drinks cannot be hidden in the bill.”

Volkswagen Group Leasing opted to work with Arval, Europe’s leading fleet and fuel management company, because through their AllStar network the card can be accepted at 95 per cent of major fuel outlets in the UK, including all major oil companies, supermarkets and motorway services.

Companies receive weekly invoices that are accepted by HM Revenue and Customs for VAT purposes.

Mr Johnson added: “The card is a real winner. It’s good for drivers as they don’t have the bother of saving petrol receipts and filling in expense claim forms, and it seriously reduces the amount of administration for fleet managers and helps them save money through more effective management.”
